CAFCASS. Putting children first in family courts

Takki Sulaiman

Head of Communications

Takki Sulaiman"I have quite a diverse employment background, having worked in the private sector, in my own AIM listed PR company, in politics, the voluntary sector and – prior to Cafcass – at Supported Housing Association, Stonham as Head of Communications. I hold an MSc in Social Policy and Administration from LSE, and a BA in Politics from Warwick University.

"I had the opportunity to bring together my skills, experience and interests in a role that allowed me to operate on a national arena in a frontline social care organisation. As Head of Communications, I manage all the traditional functions in terms of internal and external communications (press office, public relations and public affairs, staff newsletter, leaflets, posters, website, intranet). As a Head of Profession I am given a great deal of opportunity to work on projects outside of my immediate sphere of responsibility, such as staff engagement, developing online services and, this year, directing  the national change programme with a budget of £2.8million.

"We are unusual in that we work directly with service users. This gives us a unique opportunity to influence the social care agenda for children and families on a national level. As an organisation, we’re able to embrace new ideas and suggestions and this makes Cafcass an exciting place to work.
